Would you rather: Be deaf or be blind

I had this discussion with my mom as we were demolishing the chocolate covered almonds that my parents bought from Costco. Anyway, my mom said she’d rather be deaf. I agreed, but I told her that you couldn’t listen to good music if you were deaf. She said, I had a good point. Then she said, “But wouldn’t you rather see where you’re going and not have to rely on anyone to bring you anywhere?”

I said, “True that mom. True that.” But then I was like, “Your life would be extremely quiet if you were deaf and nothing would be exciting because you couldn’t hear anything.” She agreed and was like, “True that Ryan. True that.”

But in the end, we both agreed that we’d rather be deaf because we like seeing things. She also said if she was blind, but could still hear, she said she wouldn’t like it when people would curse or say bad things, because she said, “Who would want to hear garbage like that?”

True that mom. True that.
